Japanese manufacturer just released a new set of photos of the upcoming 2021 Honda Brio model. As you might know, the Brio is one of the smallest cars in Honda’s fleet that looks compact and stylish. According to Honda, this model will arrive in India in December 2020, and it should be very affordable.
The new Brio will come with a single-engine option. This is not a clever move to stay competitive, because many models in the same segment offer two or even three engine options.
2021 Honda Brio Comes With Mild Changes
The new 2021 Honda Brio looks familiar. Looking at this model, we noticed plenty of similarities with the current-gen Mobilio. Moreover, the design is somehow dull and without sharper lines. The front of this small car is looking still odd with a mesh honeycomb grille and chrome crossbar. Interestingly, the manufacturer used the same large headlights that we also saw on many nowadays Honda vehicles. For example, the same design can be found on the CR-V SUV.
Looking at this car on the back, we noticed some small changes. Honda this time added a more subtle spoiler and sharper taillights design. On top of that, the base model comes standard with 14-inch alloys that are looking more stylish than before.
Cabin Looks Modern
The cabin of 2021 Honda Brio is stylish and comfortable. As we can see from the photos, some mild refreshments are happening. The layout is the same as before and Brion provides enough room for all passengers. Basically, from the outside, this model looks small, but inside, it gives generous space for five occupants. As the Mobilio model, the new Brio will host plenty of the same cues. The design inside is modern and the manufacturer added cleaner dash without psychical buttons.
Comfort is good and Brio host fabric seats. However, on upper trims, buyers will get more quality and leather upholstery. The cargo area is decent, and without folding down the rear bench, this small car can host one large piece of luggage or several shopping bags. Unlike the previous model, the new Brio comes with a noticeable improvement in legroom, which is a big plus.
As for the techs inside, the latest Brio offers a great package of standard features. It comes with a 7-inch infotainment system with six speakers, Apple Carplay/Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB port.
Safety
The safety list of the new Brio is longer than before. This small vehicle includes keyless entry, anti-theft alarm, driver and passenger airbags, and electronic stability.
2021 Honda Brio Powertrain Specs
The all-new 2021 Honda Brio is the small hatch that is available with a single-engine option. This model uses a 1.2-liter SOHC i-VTEC capable of producing not so good output of 89 horses. As you can see, this engine is basically downgraded if we compare it with the previous model. Generally, the previous-generation with the same engine produces 99hp and 127Nm.
The Brio tackles relatively steep inclines without issue, and while it can get up to speed, I get the impression overtaking on the highway will not be among this car’s strengths. This mill comes mated to a CVT. While there were some moments I’d wish it’d shift just a tad bit quicker, it managed things fine for the most part.
Release Date and Price
The redesigned version of 2021 Honda Brio has been confirmed and we can expect this model to be launched in India in December 2020. Generally, if one needs a small city car that provides a very compact design, Brio is an ideal choice. However, the cons this time includes downgraded engine and not so roomy and versatile cabin. Pricing is not yet revealed, but we can expect it to be soon.
