The upcoming 2021 Honda Fit also marketed as the Jazz in Europe is a subcompact hatchback that slots below the Civic model. Honda’s smallest and least expensive vehicle will be redesigned for the following year and it will gain more features inside.
So, if you need a great city car that provides a surprisingly spacious interior, this model is a real deal. Also, it’s budget-friendly and it delivers an excellent package of features for invested money. Unfortunately, in recent interviews, company officials have stated that there will no be a Type R model for now.
2021 Honda Fit Refreshed Design
Like the popular Civic Type R model, the upcoming 2021 Honda Fit will provide elegant design. However, this small hatchback has many advantages and thanks to its design, it’s easy to maneuver and park. The fourth-generation will bring a more appealing look thanks to its squinted LED headlights and rooftop spoiler that gives better airflow.
On the back, the new LED taillights give it a more sporting attitude. Depending on the chosen trim, the design of the Fit will vary. For example, going for EX and EX-L models, the buyers will get fog lights, extra chrome on the grille and liftgate, and stylish aluminum-alloy wheels. However, the Sport model will bring more aggressive styling with black wheels, a more sporty front spoiler, rear diffuser, orange pin-striping, and a chrome exhaust tip.
Stunning Arrangments Inside
Inside, the new 2021 Honda Fit has more rooms than you can expect. This small hatchback, thanks to the arranged cabin, can place five occupants comfortably. However, because it comes with a slightly sloped roof, a passenger on the back will lack more headrooms. Besides that, this model will provide accepted comfort for such small hatchback. Honda offers Magic Seats, and they can be folded in several ways to accommodate cargo in varying shapes and sizes. Finally, the manufacturer will update its aging infotainment system touchscreen and it will add a virtual cockpit. Also, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration come standard now.
Overall, if you’ll need more features, the Sport model is the real deal to go for. This trim will include also advanced driving aids such as lane departure warning and forward collision warning.
2021 Honda Fit Under the Hood
As we mentioned, the new 2021 Honda Fit is a subcompact hatchback available in four trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, and EX-L. Each of these trims offers the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and the front-wheel-drive system as standard.
Like before, there are no rooms for the all-wheel-drive system neither optionally. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on LX and Sport trims, while a continuously variable automatic transmission is optional. However, if one goes for EX and EX-L trims, it will get CVT automatic transmission. Moreover, with the manual transmission, this engine provides 130 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. Basically, choosing a model with CVT it will reduce output to 128 hp and 113 lb-ft of torque.
