The forthcoming 2021 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid is finally confirmed. The all-new hybrid variant will arrive later this year and we can assume only better design and more impressive fuel efficiency than the regular model. Overall, from many speculations, the Ridgeline hybrid pickup will suffer minimal visual upgrades and more features inside. On top of that, the highlight of this truck is definitively the new hybrid drivetrain.
However, like the regular model, the new hybrid will be made on the same unibody platform. Generally, this pickup offers excellent headling and a smooth ride. According to the manufacturer, there will be four trim levels available.
2021 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid Design
The all-new 2021 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid will look almost the same as the base model. As we mentioned, the upcoming model will sit on the same unibody platform. However, Honda will try to deliver a more stylish and more recognizable design, that will separate the hybrid model from the base one.
Honestly, we like how the regular model looks like right now. Front of the half-ton pickup dominates with the attractive grille that hosts more chrome accents than before. Also, this model comes with LED headlights and it uses strong bumpers. On the back, LED taillights provide excellent shape and visibility. Honda also offers a two-way tailgate feature as standard.
Cabin Improvements
The upcoming 2021 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid will offer more features inside than regular. The cabin remains to be very modern and comfortable. Everything from the inside will be upscale that’s for sure. The comfort will be a way better and this mid-size pickup offers an acceptable roomy cabin for all the occupants. However, we don’t have the exact information, while Honda automaker uses leather upholstery as standard or optional on the hybrid one.
It’s for sure that the manufacturer will introduce a long list of standard amenities for sure. So, we can expect Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and interior backlighting as standard.
Engine Rumors
Unlike the Regular Ridgeline pickup that uses 3.5-liter V6 and delivers 280 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque, the hybrid one will use an electric motor and excellent battery capacity. Thanks to that, it offers more power. The total output of the hybrid model is 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Both models will provide impressive fuel efficiency.
The regular model that comes only with a gasoline powertrain delivers 22 mpg combined, while the hybrid version that adds electric motor is rated at 34 mpg. Like before, Honda manufacturer will keep its independent suspension and unibody architecture.
Another possibility is Honda’s two-motor system, paired with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. That’s the same setup found on the popular Honda Accord sedan. This engine can develop 212 horsepower (158 kilowatts) and helps the sedan to achieve an EPA-rated 47 mpg.
2021 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid Cost and Arrival Date
The regular Honda Ridgeline will come with the starting price at $30,000. However, choosing the hybrid model, you will need to pay more. This model will be around $35,500, which is not such a big deal after all.
The hybrid model will provide a more upscale cabin and better techs. Besides that, everything else is the same and include minor exterior upgrades. The new mid-size pickup truck will go on sale in the last quartal of this year. Most of the reliable reports are predicting that it will debut in December.
