2023 Honda Legend Might Be Powered by a New Hybrid System

0

The 2023 Honda Legend is a compact sedan that will arrive later this year with a mid-cycle refresh. As you probably know, this model is one of the most attractive sedans in class, featuring eye-catchy design and Honda Sensing Elite package as standard. The Level 3 system is present but is still far from qualifying as fully autonomous. Along with Honda’s Traffic Jam Pilot, the Legend also has adaptive cruise with lane assist.

Unlike the outgoing model, the upcoming Honda Legend might be powered by the same hybrid system we saw on the CR-V model. That means we can expect a 3.5-liter V6 engine mated with two electric motors.

2023 Honda Legend Redesign

The exterior of the new 2023 Honda Legend Hybrid is handsome, and it will not depart too much from the outgoing one. However, this sedan still dominates at the front, just like the flagship Accord. Based on recently released renderings, the manufacturer will make some refreshment, and the Legend will get more attractive LED headlights and hood.

It should also be available with a new set of wheels measuring either 17 or 19 inches in diameter. As for the rear, it will definitively look more sportier thanks to new taillights and exhaust system.

Modern Interior

Inside, the forthcoming 2023 Honda Legend could receive a significant update. Based on rumors, the manufacturer will use more quality materials and a large 12.3-inch infotainment system as standard. We also expect to see more supportive seats and the updated Level 3 autonomous system.

As we said, the system is still far away from a full Level 5 autonomous, but it can handle traffic jams and lane changes on its own. That means the driver doesn’t need to hold the steering wheel when this system is activated, but it needs to be ready to take back control in unforeseen situations. On top of that, you’ll feel very safe thanks to the updated Honda Sensing intelligent suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies.

2023 Honda Legend Engine Specs

The 2023 Honda Legend will most likely use the same hybrid configuration as the CR-V SUV. This model currently comes with a potent 3.5-liter V6 engine mated with two electric motors. Thanks to that, it has a standard all-wheel drive.

Unfortunately, Honda didn’t reveal exact output numbers, but many rumors suggest at least 310 horses. For transmission, the manufacturer might use e-CVT automatic, which should deliver instant shifting. Also, we expect the Honda Legend to be more efficient than the CR-V Hybrid. It’s worth mentioning that the CR-V is rated at 40 city/35 highway/38 combined mpg.

Release Date, Price

The fresh new 2023 Honda Legend Hybrid should hit stores sometime this year. However, considering that the last model received significant updates, the new one will introduce only mid-cycle changes. The legendary sedan will now be available with a new hybrid system, the same we saw on the CR-V.

The sad news is that the next-generation Legend will not be available to purchase in the U.S. Honda didn’t reveal any information how much the new sedan will cost, at least at this point, but we can expect it to be in the range from $25,000 to $30,000.
