2022 Honda Insight Hybrid System Details
The upcoming 2022 Honda Insight uses the same engine as the predecessor. This model is powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder that produces 107 horsepower. Also, if you didn’t know, this powertrain uses the Atkinson cycle, which prioritizes efficiency over power and is common in other hybrid vehicles.
The electric motor is paired with a lithium-ion battery and it makes 129-horsepower. Generally, the whole system gives 151 horsepower. Also, the hybrid system sends power through front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Insight also features an EV mode and it can only travel up to one mile on battery power alone. The combined fuel consumption on the current model is 55-MPG.
How Much Does the 2022 Honda Insight Cost?
The debut of 2022 Honda Insight will happen next year. The base model LX that comes with 16-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, and it starts at $22,930. The most recommended trim is EX. This trim features more technology than the first one. It cost $24,810 and it includes a blind-spot monitor, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a 180-watt sound system with eight speakers.
At the top of Insight offer is a Touring trim that boasts leather-trimmed seating, power-adjustable heated front seats, a moonroof, navigation system. Buyers can get all of these for less than 30k.
