Honda dropped the Fit hatchback from its U.S. lineup last year, but the debut of a new generation will continue for the rest of the world. As far as we know, the forthcoming 2023 Honda Fit will be completely redesigned, and it will likely to use the same design language as we saw on the recently introduced HR-V.
Like the Civic and the latest HR-V, the Honda Fit should share the same platform as well. In case you didn’t know, the previous-generation HR-V shared its platform with the small Fit hatchback, which indicates the rumors above. So, don’t be surprised if the Fit uses the same engines as well.
2023 Honda Fit Design
On the cosmetic side, the 2023 Honda Fit could receive the same treatment as the recently unveiled Honda HR-V. In case you didn’t know, this SUV gains a complete redesign. It features a new attractive front, sharing many of the same components with the recently updated Civic sedan and hatchback.
While Honda is remaining quiet about the design of the new Fit, we can guess that this small hatchback will be compact and have a more upright shape and blunter front end than the outgoing model.
Completely New Interior
According to new images, this small hatchback could provide more comfort than the model before. It will get the same horizontal dashboard layout with hidden air vents and a touch-screen infotainment display we saw on the Honda HR-V model. Finally, the Fit will adopt Honda’s retro-inspired cabin that should, on the other hand, be very modern.
The infotainment system on this model measured 7 to 9-inches in width, and it sits proud on the upper dash. We also expect standard features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and available navigation, wireless device charging, and onboard Wi-Fi hot spot. We’d not be really surprised if Honda add a new Sensing system into the upcoming Fit.
2023 Honda Fit Engine Rumors
The next-generation 2023 Honda Fit will share the same platform with the new HR-V and Civic model. So, possibility of using the same engine as well is huge. The current HR-V will be available with two engine options. The Honda’s traditional 2.0-liter four-cylinder 158-hp will probably power the base model. We also expect an optionally more powerful turbocharged 1.5-liter that produces 180-hp.
A hybrid model is another possibility, and we expect all of them to send power to front-wheel drive via continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). All-wheel drive could be available as an option.
2023 Honda Fit Release Date, Price
Right now, we don’t know the exact release date and price of the forthcoming 2023 Honda Fit. If we can rely on the latest rumors, the new hatchback will probably arrive sometime next year.
As we said, the U.S. lineup of Fit has been discontinued last year, but the rest of the world will once again be able to drive this awesome hatchback. To sum up, we expect it to share the same platform with the latest HR-V and Civic model as well as engines. So, don’t expect it to remain an affordable hatchback at all.
