One of the best minivans is going to receive some mild refreshment for the next year. The forthcoming 2024 Honda Odyssey will reportedly get a new trim for its entry-level, and completely fresh mid-range Sport model. Basically, everything else will remain the same.
Just like the predecessor, the new one will come with a spacious, well-built, refined, and comfy cabin. On top of that, the Honda Odyssey has been awarded the maximum 5-Star score by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Every Odyssey uses a 3.5-liter V6, producing 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The power is sent through a quietly efficient 10-speed automatic transmission.
2024 Honda Odyssey Facelift
As we said, there are no significant changes in terms of styling this time. Reportedly, the new 2024 Honda Odyssey will introduce a new trim for its entry-level, and also refreshed mid-range Sport model. The new Sport trim has a lot of exterior details finished in gloss black, including the grille, side mirror housings, B-pillars, rear pillars, light surrounds, and taillight trim.
On top of that, the wheels are also in black. Sport trim looks unique and it can be had in colors such as the Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, and Sonic Gray Pearl.
Modern Cabin and More Driver Assistants
The 2024 Honda Odyssey minivan offers plenty of space for up to eight passengers in all three seating rows. For the 2024 year model, Honda will make some changes and we’re expecting an aging 8-inch touchscreen to be replaced with a new one of 10.1 inches. Also, as standard equipment, you’ll get an Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, satellite radio, Bluetooth, two USB ports, and seven speakers.
We must note that Odyssey features a long list of driver assistants. It includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
2024 Honda Odyssey Engine Specs
Like the outgoing model, the 2024 Honda Odyssey will come with a 3.5-liter V6, which is not using turbo. The output of the current model is 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Power goes to the front wheels only, while all-wheel drive is not even on the optional list.
Like in the case with the model before, the manufacturer continuously transfers gears through quietly efficient 10-speed automatic transmission. Cylinder deactivation is there and it contributes to fuel efficiency, just like the engine stop/restart function. Honda claims that this minivan can maximum tow of 3,500 pounds.
2024 Honda Odyssey Price, Release Date
The new 2024 Honda Odyssey will have the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $37,350 plus a destination charge. Compared to last year’s model, this is a jump of almost $3k. The new-for-2023 Sport version will cost around $41,210, while the range-topping Elite is a little less than $50.
As for competition, the closest ones are the Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Pacifica, both in the $30K range. However, the Kia Carnival starts at around $33K, while the Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid version is in the same line as Elite Odyssey.
