The Japanese carmaker has been present in China for decades and besides models that are known all around the world, there are also several nameplates you can’t find in other markets. The Inspire is a perfect example, as it uses a unique name, even though its design isn’t so exclusive. More precisely, this model heavily relies on the iconic Honda Accord, and that’s something that Honda has been doing for decades. Now the 6th generation is on the way and it will debut as the 2024 Honda Inspire and it will once again share most of the parts with the new, 11th generation of Accord, which debuted in North America recently.
All this means that, when compared to the outgoing model, the 2024 Honda Inspire won’t bring any radical changes. It will bring an evolutionary design, with a completely new styling but gradually improved mechanical aspect of the vehicle. Moreover, some parts, such as the powertrain, will carry one without significant changes.
2024 Honda Inspire Design
As for the exterior design, the most notable will be the new styling and, once again, a lot of things will be shared with the Accord. The two models will once again share the overall silhouette, while the key difference will be at the front, with a little bit different grille design. Still, headlights and some other parts at the front seem pretty much the same. There are also slightly different bumpers that don’t just make this sedan look different, but longer as well, for about 0.4 inches. The rear end brings some quite obvious differences, especially in terms of taillights and surrounding areas.
As for the mechanical aspect of the vehicle, we count on a familiar layout, characterized by evolutionary improvements over the previous model. The chassis has been slightly reinforced and is now more rigid, while the suspension setup receives only a few minor tweaks, to offer even better ride quality.
Unfortunately, we are still waiting to get a chance to take a look at the inside of the new sedan and if we can judge by the previous generations, we presume that the correlation with the Accord will once again be very close. This means we are about to see pretty much the same dashboard design, which looks more elegant than before, due to the massive use of horizontal lines and clean shapes. The materials should also be nicer, while a big part of the updates will also go to the new tech features, such as a massive 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and an even bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen, which will probably be offered as an option.
If we take the new Accord as a reference, the next generation will also offer a little bit more space on the inside, though it’s good to say that the outgoing model is already impressive in this aspect and accommodates adults with ease. Also, there is a cargo area that offers 15.5 cubic feet of space.
2024 Honda Inspire Engines
As for the powertrain, some things will remain the same, and others will change, just like in the new Accord. On one side, base models will carry on in the same way, with a familiar 1.5-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 190 horsepower and comes in pair with a continually variable transmission (CVT) that sends power to the front wheels.
On the other side, novelties will come in the form of the new hybrid system. The old one gets replaced with the new one, which also uses a 2.0-liter engine and two electric motors, but brings improvements in terms of efficiency and overall performance. The new system is rated and 204 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque.
2024 Honda Inspire Release Date
The all-new 2024 Honda Inspire should hit the market sometime in the second half of the year. A more precise launch date, as well as the price, should be known soon.
