The Japanese company will try again to reach many customers with the comeback of the new 2021 Honda Crosstour mid-size wagon. This time, the forthcoming model will be redesigned and it will provide a more upscale cabin. As most of our readers are probably remember, the last Crosstour model was discharged back in 2015, due to not so good sales.
So, after rough years of sales, the company is preparing to bring back in life the familiar iconic model. According to the latest reports, the forthcoming Crosstour will introduce plenty of novelties and it will use many cues from the Concept D model.
2021 Honda Crosstour Will be Based on the Concept D Model
The return of the famous 2021 Honda Crosstour is really happening. As we mentioned, the next-generation model will introduce mild visual updates. This means that shape will probably remain the same. Actually, the new model won’t go too far from the origin. However, the design may suffer some body and dimension changes.
As you may know, the Crosstour mid-size wagon is heavily based on Honda’s D Concept. These two models share plenty of common cues. Honda recently teased that the new Crosstour will come with better aerodynamics and it will add a more sloppy roofline. Besides, we can expect a completely new suspension and a higher ground clearance. The front will be refreshed for sure and the upcoming wagon will wear the same design language as most of the nowadays vehicles from this automaker. Also, we assume that the manufacturer will introduce more exterior colors and some new optional equipment.
Cabin Features
As for the cabin, the latest 2021 Honda Crosstour will be boosted with more upscale materials. However, some previous features will remain and this model will sport the same layout as before. As you may know, the same stylish cabin is present in the Accord model.
Basically and primarily thanks to its wagon body design, the new Honda Crosstour will provide significantly more room than the rest of the models in the same segment. The two rows configuration remains and this model provides enough room for five occupants. The comfort inside is excellent, especially up front, thanks to the supportive seats. Cargo area offers 51.5 cubic feet of space with folded rear seats, which is acceptable for such a model.
Inside, this model offers a standard 7-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, and the latest phone integrations.
2021 Honda Crosstour Powertrain Specs
The forthcoming 2021 Honda Crosstour is the SUV that will be offered with three engine options. The base model comes with a small 1.5-liter turbo-four mill, which produces around 192 horsepower. This model will use the Hondas latest CVT transmission.
Higher trim levels will be available with a more potent 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that is able to deliver 252 hp. Unlike the first engine, this mill will be paired with a brand-new 10-speed automatic transmission.
Lastly, the third engine option possibility is a hybrid one. The company will use the same hybrid system as on the famous Accord. This system uses a naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder drivetrain that produces 212 hp. The Accord’s hybrid setup offers an impressive 50 mpg combined. However, these ratings will be definitively different on the Crosstour.
