The all-new 2022 Honda CBR400RR is in development stage, according to multiple reports. After Honda recently introduced the most potent bikes on the market, the CBR600RR, CB1000X, and CBR1000R, the rumors about the new 400cc sportbike are not settling down at all.
The latest news reveal that the forthcoming motorcycle could be a direct rival for the upcoming Kawasaki Ninja 400. Some of the renderings are available, and we must admit, the new Honda CBR400 promises to bring something different that we saw on the previous bikes. If you didn’t know, the famous Honda CBR400 is a part of the CBR series introduced by Honda in 1983.
2022 Honda CBR400RR Design
At first glance, the renderings of the 2022 Honda CBR400RR reveal almost identical styling as we saw on the much bigger CBR650R motorcycle. The new CBR400RR will probably borrow its chassis and some of the bodywork cues. Overall, the design looks great, and we like it more than some of the previous CBR models.
Many believe that the final version will probably adopt similar aerodynamic wings on the windshield’s sides as the CBR600RR bike. On top of that, we can expect the new bike to feature the same frame-mounted top shock Unit Pro-Link suspension. Developed on Honda’s championship-winning MotoGP bikes, the chassis will absorb bumps, resulting in more precise handling and better traction. It’s interesting to see that and how the new Honda CBR400RR will keep up with rival Kawasaki Ninja 400.
Engine Specs
The new 2022 Honda CBR400RR will most likely deploy the proven 400cc twin-cylinder engine. The engine is best in class, making around 60 HP at 11,000 rpm and 38 Nm of torque. Taking all these facts, the Honda CBR400RR will probably use a six-speed manual transmission that can be used for manual or automatic shifting. Generally, those engine specification looks similar to the CB-F Concept, which is fitted with a 399cc inline-four Hyper V-TEC engine with a liquid-cooled twin-shaft.
