2023 Acura RDX Spied Testing, Type S Treatment Is Possible as Well

The new 2023 Acura RDX is getting a facelift, according to a new batch of photos. The first spy photos are available, and we identified some changes. In addition, the RDX is an ideal choice if you’re looking for a family SUV that’s offering a combination of handsome design elements and a stylish cabin.

The camouflaged model is featuring a revised fascia’s front and rear. Like the outgoing model, the new RDX will be available with the same 2.0-liter turbo inline-4 producing 272 hp. This engine is hooked up to a 10-speed automatic transmission and front wheels as standard.

The 2023 Acura RDX prototype has been spied testing, featuring some visual changes mainly on the front and rear. Overall, the new SUV still looks compact, and it should ride on the same platform as the outgoing model. That means we can expect it to remain dimensionally the same. The “floating-roof” is present as the new exhaust tips with a square-shaped design.

According to Acura, the Type S performance treatment will be used on the upcoming model. Literary, we expect this model to look more sporty, featuring a more attractive grill with a Type S badge.

The 2023 Acura RDX is a 2-row SUV that has a very modern and roomy cabin. This model offers 31.1 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, and it can be increase to 79.8 cubic feet when seats are flat. As you can see, the RDX is one of the most impressive SUVs in the segment. On the other hand, it’s filled with many technology and luxury.

The highlight on the inside is a high-resolution 10.2-inch infotainment screen operated through the company’s True Touchpad Interface. Besides, the RDX also offers a long list of standard equipment. It comes with dual-zone automatic climate control, heated/12-way power-adjustable front seats, heated side mirrors, ultra-wide panoramic moonroof, ambient cabin lighting, automatic high beams, and Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto smartphone integration.

The same engine will power the new 2023 Acura RDX as the outgoing model. That means we should once again expect to see the same 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that produces 272 hp. The engine comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission using front wheels. Of course, all four drive is available as optional and standard on upper trims.

The manufacturer will add a Type S performance to all future models. So, we can also expect a newly developed 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 delivering 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. Nevertheless, a performance hybrid configuration is also possible.

Release Date and Price

The forthcoming 2023 Acura RDX is an excellent SUV that stands up in segment thanks to its handsome styling and comfortable cabin. The prototype is spied testing, and we first noticed a revised front and rear fascia’s.

On top of that, the cabin is also refreshed, and the manufacturer added more quality materials and plenty of standard amenities. Acura has indicated that all of its future vehicles will get a performance treatment Type S, including the upcoming RDX. The debut of all models will probably happen next year, with slightly higher pricing. The current model costs less than $40k, and it can go up to $49,000 with upper trims.
