2025 Acura RDX Redesign: What We Know So Far

1

Acura’s compact crossover has been around for a while and it looks like the company is preparing a full redesign in the near future. From what we know so far, the next generation will probably arrive as the 2025 Acura RDX, so we may expect to see it in a little bit more than a year. For now, the officials are pretty secret and their efforts to hide details from us have been very successful. Still, we think we can easily predict some of the aspects of the new generation, especially if we consider all the qualities of the current model, as well as things that need to improve.

Therefore, we are pretty sure that the next-generation RDX won’t bring any radical changes. Instead, we expect to see a redesign that continues the evolution of the current design. We presume that a lot of parts and design solutions could be borrowed from the new CR-V. The styling will be new, while the main improvements should come inside the vehicle. As for the powertrain, the current turbo-four will probably remain.

2025 Acura RDX Redesign

As we’ve just mentioned, the new generation will come soon and it probably won’t feature any radical changes. Simply, the current model still looks respectable in many aspects, despite it’s been around since 2018. This particularly refers to the chassis, which provides pretty engaging handling, which turns this compact crossover into something that can make much more expensive BMW X3 or Porsche Macan run for their money. Therefore, this aspect should bring only fine improvements.

On the other hand, we do expect to see new styling. The current model looks pretty attractive with all those sharp lines and from this distance, we can say it aged pretty well. Therefore, we presume that the 2025 Acura RDX would bring a similar design approach, full of sharp edges but with plenty of new details, such as futuristic headlights or an even more prominent grille design.

Interior

Most of us can agree that this is the aspect that the current model needs improvements most. It’s not that the current cabin features bad quality or something like that, but rivals are simply more upscale, and more luxurious. So, we presume that Honda engineers will come up with a more stylish dashboard design, with nicer materials and more tech features. One of the things we would definitely expect to see is a new infotainment system, considering that the current one is quite complicated to use.

The new generation will probably get slightly bigger dimensions, which should reflect in more passenger space as well. Still, the current model is already pretty good in this aspect, so things could only get even better.

The same thing is with the cargo space, as the current generation already offers some of the highest ratings in the class. In numbers, that would be around 29.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 58.9 cubic feet in total.

2025 Acura RDX Engines

We presume that the current 2.0-liter turbo-four could carry on to the new generation as well. With 272 horsepower, it is one of the most powerful base engines in the class, which works well with the 10-speed automatic transmission, which should also march on. Base models would come with FWD, while the company’s well-known all-wheel drive with torque vectoring will be offered as an option.

The only problem is that there is no engine upgrade in this crossover. We would like to see this changed in the new model. Some sources speculate about the hybrid powertrain, which would be based on the same turbo-four engine. Others speculate about the more powerful variant of this unit, the same one that powers the Civic Type R, with a max output of 320 horsepower.

2025 Acura RDX Release Date and Price

We believe that the 2025 Acura RDX could arrive sometime in the second half of the next year. The starting price will probably increase compared to the current model, which is available at around 42.500 dollars.

  1. Adding two more engines: a hybrid engine and the 3.0 turbo would work well for the RDX. I would go for the 3.0 turbo.

The current infotainment system in theory is good but, in practice it’s poor compared to other lux brands. This must be greatly improved.
