By The redesigned 2024 Honda Accord is on the way, and we just got our first glimpse of what this model will look like. Thanks to the latest spy shots and renderings, the forthcoming sedan looks attractive, featuring the same proportions as the outgoing model.
From the information that we got, the new sedan could continue to ride on the same platform as before. However, as we can see, Honda will drastically redesign it, and the new Accord will for the first time borrow some styling cues from the new Civic. It will basically wear the same slim headlights, grille, and a sleek lower bumper.
2024 Honda Accord First Look
The renderings of the 2024 Honda Accord provide us with a lot of details. First of all, it seems that the proportions of the new model are unchanged, which means it will ride on the same platform.
However, Honda will make some changes, and the new sedan looks wearing styling cues similar to the latest Civic. It features an identical slim LED headlight, a sizable grille, wheels, and a sleek lower bumper. Overall, the design is much better compared to the outgoing model.
What’s New Inside?
At the moment, we don’t have official confirmations of what will be changed and updated inside. In general, we don’t expect the new 2024 Honda Accord to drastically differ from the outgoing one. This car is the most spacious midsize sedan, offering rear legroom of 40.4 inches. It also comes with a user-friendly infotainment system with a crispy 8-inch touchscreen.
However, we’re expecting the new model to replace the current infotainment with a larger one. As for standard equipment, expect Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, Bluetooth, two USB ports, and a 4-speaker/160-watt audio setup.
The list of advanced safety features will be updated as well including forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning/lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, road sign recognition, and automatic high beams.
2024 Honda Accord Engine Specs
As we said, there is a huge possibility that Honda will keep the current platform, which means that the engines could be carried over to the new sedan. The current model is powered by a standard 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 192 horsepower (143-kilowatt). Anyway, as optional, you can get a more powerful 252-hp (187-kW) four-cylinder engine. Also, there is the Accord Hybrid, which thanks to a combined system delivers 212 hp (158 kW). However, from many reports, the automaker could make some tweaks for the new model.
When Will the New 2024 Honda Accord Be Available for Purchase?
So far, Honda hasn’t revealed how much the new Accord will cost or when can we expect it. However, the company officials did say that the next-generation Accord Hybrid would debut in 2023 as a 2024-year model. Many are expecting to see the new sedan alongside the CR-V Hybrid, which is set to debut in summer.
The current base Accord starts at $25,470, while all loaded models could reach $43K. For comparison, in the same line are models Toyota Camry, Kia K5, Hyundai Sonata, and Subaru Legacy. On the other hand, the Chevrolet Malibu is more affordable starting at just $23.4K.
