By The all-new 2024 Honda Prologue will arrive next year as the first all-electric model from this manufacturer. Details about the new SUV are hazy at the moment, but from the first sketch, the Prologue promises to be handsome thanks to sport large wheels, short front and rear overhangs, and eye-catchy lighting elements. As the gasoline-powered CR-V, the Prologue will be similar in size, featuring a slightly lower-slung roofline.
Honda claims the Prologue will ride on a platform developed with General Motors. So, expect it to use the same Ultium battery packs as the upcoming models such as the Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Hummer EV. If this proves to be accurate, the Prologue could use the same 100-kWh battery, offering driving range of around 300 miles per charge.
2024 Honda Prologue Design
The new 2024 Honda Prologue is advertised as an adventure-ready SUV. According to the first images, the forthcoming model looks very clean and modern.
As expected from an EV model, the design is focused on aerodynamics, and the Prologue features the same closed grille as many nowadays EVs. Definitely, the front facia of the new SUV is inspired by that of the Honda. The Prologue comes with a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a strong stance thanks to a new look of the wheels.
Interior Rumors
Unfortunately, there is only one sketch image of the 2024 Honda Prologue’s exterior. So, we don’t have exact information on what will be available inside. Considering that the Prologue is sharing the same platform with the Cadillac Lyriq, we expect it to borrow some of the technologies as well.
The upcoming Cadillac Lyriq interior is spacious thanks to a platform developed with General Motors. Like the latest Escalade, the Lyriq dominates inside with a giant 33.0-inch curved advanced LED display. This screen serves as both the infotainment system and the driver’s gauge display. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot are all standard, and we expect the same in Prologue. Also, there is a 19-speaker stereo system that provides a very crisp sound.
2024 Honda Prologue Motor Setup
Honda hasn’t released any information about the Prologue’s motor specs. However, considering the 2024 Honda Prologue rides on the same platform as the Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Hummer EV, we expect it to use the same system as well.
That means the new Prologue could use the same 100-kWh battery, offering driving range of around 300 miles per charge. The single engine mounted to a rear is capable of delivering 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.
2024 Honda Prologue Price, Release Date
At the moment, we don’t know the exact Prologue’s pricing or trim levels yet. However, we expect this model to be around $45,000 and go up depending on trim levels. For those who may not know, Honda also offers traditional LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring trim levels on almost every model.
So, we can surely expect the same trims on the new Prologue. If that appears to be accurate, the Prologue EX trim will be around $48,000, EX-L $51,000, while the most expensive Touring could be $55,000.
