The global debut of the 2021 Honda CBR150R is happening right now. Honda has exclusively launched its entry-level motorcycle in Thailand. The latest version includes some small improvements, and it features new paint scheme options.
Other than that, most parts are unchanged, and the same engine powers the Japanese bike. Honda CBR150R derives power from a 149cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine providing almost 17 horses. Earlier, it was speculated that the new bike would be equipped with the latest USD front fork suspension units, but it didn’t happen.
2021 Honda CBR150R Overall Design and Hardware
The new 2021 Honda CBR150R motorcycle is featuring the same recognized styling. This model comes with a new color scheme, including a red front wheel, red underbelly cowl, and more sporty graphics. Generally, the forthcoming CBR150R is based on the higher CBR models, such as CBR650R and CBR1000RR-R SP.
The design is sporty, and it exhibits signature dual-LED headlamps with eye-grabbing LED DRLs. Like the outgoing bike, CBR150R comes with a sculpted fuel tank, fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors, split-style seats, and a high-rise tail section. As for the suspension, this bike is handled by telescopic forks at front and a rear mono-shock. Braking is better over the last year model, and the manufacturer used petal-type disc brakes on both wheels.
Engine and Performance
The new 2021 Honda CBR150R motorcycle is using the same engine as its predecessor. This bike deploys a 149cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes a maximum of 17 horses. According to Honda, like the previous model, the new model comes with the same 6-speed transmission.
Overall, considering that the same engine and transmission are present, we cannot expect a better fuel economy. Basically, the upcoming model will probably provide the same numbers as before. This unit comes equipped with Honda’s latest PGM-Fi fuel-injection system and eSP technology. Interestingly, in the same segment is Yamaha R15, which is much more efficient.
2021 Honda CBR150R Release Date and Price
As mentioned, the new 2021 Honda CBR150R has been launched last week in Thailand. The new model except for some small improvements and colors remains the same. Generally, this is the most affordable bike that you can get for THB 99,700, roughly translating to $3320.
