The 90s car nostalgia is coming back slowly. According to numerous reports, the 2021 Honda S2000 has been ready for mass production. Unfortunately, due to the situation with the pandemic coronavirus that inevitably affects the entire industry, we cannot claim that this model will be available this year.

2021 Honda S2000 Design

The first images of 2021 Honda S2000 reveal numerous changes. This small roadster is based on a car from the AP1 generation (1999–2003). However, the new generation will bring a more attractive design, but it will keep the same shape and dimension.

We like the new look and the manufacturer fitted this model with a modernized bumper, side sills, fenders, and spoiler along with an updated suspension system. At first glance, we can also see that the mirrors and windshield surround have been painted in black, and the car sits on a set of 17-inch Advan RZ2 wheels.

Interior Look

The interior of the new 2021 Honda S2000 will be modern and sporty for sure. Furthermore, we have information that the manufacturer will add more upscale materials and some of the techs from Civic Type R. The cabin is definitively slightly different from the ones in the original S2000.

As we mentioned, the tech inside will be borrowed from the Type R model. Honda does say that this model will come with a new 12-speaker premium audio system, though, and a large 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

There is no official info what exactly powertrain will be used for this small roadster. Back in ‘99 when the first S2000 has been released, under the hood, this model has a 2.0-liter engine that cranked out 247 hp and 161 lb-ft of torque. However, from more and more website news, the upcoming s2000 will bring more power.

According to many sources, the new Honda S2000 will borrow a powertrain from the famous Civic Type R model. If this is true, the S2000 will gain a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 developing 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Besides that, it will also use the same 6-speed manual with driver-selectable rev-matching, sending power to the front wheels.
