The refreshed 2022 Honda CRF450R motocrosser has just been introduced to the public. Based and focused on its predecessor, the new model offers a compact design, and excellent off-road features.
For 2022, Honda dedicated ECU and suspension settings, resulting in improved drivability and balance. On top of that, this motocrosser comes with a stylish 18-inch rear wheel, aluminum side stand, handguards, LED headlight, sealed chain, and six-speed transmission. Honda’s new 449cc Unicam cylinder head combines the best of single and double overhead cam designs. The configuration also contributes excellent performances, and engine is very efficient.
2022 Honda CRF450R Features
The new 2022 Honda CRF450R offers excellent handling thanks to its superior frame. According to Honda, the CRF450R subframe is nearly three-quarters of a pound lighter than the outgoing model. Also, this bike uses a 49mm Showa fork with a conventional spring design that helps increase front-suspension precision and handling.
Looking at the new bike, you’ll realize that many styling cues are taken from the HRC bikes. Unlike the previous model, Honda this time added a new black DID DirtStar rims, providing better traction than before. On top of that, premium DID DirtStar LT-X rims are available as well. Interestingly, a large front-brake disc is present measures a whopping 260mm. Front and rear brake-disc guards are also part of the standard package too.
Like many of today’s bikes, Honda uses a Unicam cylinder head. Primary thanks to that, it contributes a compact engine that saves weight compared to a camshaft motor.
The 2022 Honda CRF450R features a proven 449cc engine that provides excellent performance and even better fuel economy. Like the outgoing bike, the new one uses a fuel-injection and the same six-speed transmission. Depending on track conditions, riders with just one click can choose between standard, smooth and aggressive modes.
2022 Honda CRF450R Release Date and Price
From Honda’s statement, the new CRF450R will be released in the summertime alongside the CRF450RWE version. Compared to its predecessor, the new motocross hosts many upgrades.
It features better styling, LED lighting, a stylish 18-inch rear wheel, aluminum side stand, and much more. The base MSRP of 2022 Honda CRF450R is $9599 + plus a destination charge of $380.
