After the returns of the Ruckus bike, Honda’s lineup will be richer by one more model. The PCX, the scooter formerly known as the PCX150, will return with more sporting styling. However, according to the latest news, the forthcoming bike will be called the 2022 Honda PCX. Formerly, Honda will throw out “150” from its name, and it will add a much larger and more efficient four-valve engine.
The new scooter now deploys a 157cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled SOHC engine that is now oversquare 60mm x 55.5mm (bore by stroke). Thanks to the larger 28mm throttle body and four-valve design, Honda says it will be less fuel-hungry than before. Other new features include both LED headlight and turn signals, and a larger LCD instrument, as well as optional ABS.
2022 Honda PCX Design
The new 2022 Honda PCX is a world-class premium scooter that is now refreshed. It features very attractive styling that is followed by a large, central LED headlight and integrated LED turn signals. Handling is much better thanks to a solid chassis design and duplex-cradle design rather than the more common “underbone” style.
The most eye-catching is the new and easy-to-read LCD instrumentation. Generally, it’s wider this year, giving a more premium look and feel. Also, the same eye-catching design can be found on the back thanks to the new “X”-shaped tail lamp.
2022 Honda PCX Powertrain Specs
The latest 2022 Honda PCX features liquid cooling and a Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) engine that makes great performance in all traffic conditions. This year Honda gave the PCX a whole new machine that is bigger, displacing now 157cc. Plus, the new PCX offers impressive fuel efficiency.
According to the manufacturer, this scooter features a new eSP+ technology, and it uses a new four-valve design to lower emissions and provide responsive performance. Another internal engine upgrade this year is the hydraulic cam-chain adjustment that’s totally automatic. The PCX is also offered with the latest Honda’s Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), giving you confident stops, even in less-than-ideal conditions.
Release Date and Price
Because of the Covid-19 outburst, the release date of the PCX was delayed for the end of this year. Most likely that Honda will present it as the 2022 model.
Besides some exterior refreshments, the upcoming scooter will deploy the new and more efficient 157cc fuel-injected liquid-cooled SOHC engine. Its price has listened, and the new 2022 Honda PCX starts at $3,799.
